Church member Anna K. was soloist for “Just As I Am” during our February 28, 2021 service.
Middlebury Congregational Church is charter organization and host to BSA Troops 5 and 6, made up of young men and women from the Middlebury community. On Boy Scout Sunday, Charter Organizational Representative Andrew Kwashnak gave an update on how the troops and Scouts nationwide served their communities during this pandemic and the Spanish Flu a century ago.
Silver Lake Conference Center is offering a couple of intergenerational maple sugaring events in March. The trees are tapped and we’re getting ready for Maple Sugaring! Will you join us?
Come learn all about maple sugaring, from tapping trees to boiling sap to eating syrup! We’ll also do games, crafts, and worship and enjoy a hot lunch from Chef Lynn. Each family will take home some syrup and possibly some other goodies (Chef Lynn is working on maple granola!)

Join us for virtual worship this Sunday, February 14, when we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday and Scout Sunday–as well as Valentine’s Day, of course.
This week, Pastor Katrina Manzi will preach on “Holding On” from readings from 2 Kings 1:14 and Mark 9 2:13. Andrew Kwashnak will bring greetings from our chartered BSA Troops 5 and 6, and our prelude and benediction response are “Where Love is Found.”
Join us at 10:00 a.m. on our YouTube channel and greet your friends and neighbors in the chat. You can download the Bulletin and Congregational Crier here:
See you Sunday!
One of the things we’ve been working on during the pandemic is making more use of our handbells. Here’s the pieces we’ve played during the pandemic including the two from worship this past Sunday.
Here’s video of our service this snowy Sunday! Thank you to Karen, Ginny, Cynthia, Dave, and Donna! And thank you to Chris and John who are working on upgrades to our livestream tech! Today we tried out streaming at a higher resolution for the first time and with some updated audio settings.
Middlebury Congregational Church celebrates Communion on the first Sunday of the month, so this is our chance to gather for the Lord’s Supper. In the Sanctuary, the deacons would serve bread and grape juice to you in your pew. When we worship at home, we provide our own elements, so bring your own juice (or wine) and bread (or crackers) and join us!
This week, Pastor Katrina Manzi will be preaching on “Resurrection and Remembering” with lectionary Scripture readings from Isiah 40:21-31 and Mark 1:29-39. Our handbell quartet will perform “Jesus Will Reign” as a musical offering.
Join us on our YouTube Channel and say hi in the chat! We look forward to meeting you!
Here are copies of the Bulletin and Congregational Crier for you to follow along.
At its annual meeting on January 31, 2021, Middlebury Congregational Church voted unanimously to withdraw from the Naugatuck Valley Association and seek to join the Litchfield South Association of the United Church of Christ.
Regional associations are organized among peer churches to support local ministries and pastors. Middlebury shares the Region 15 school district with the town of Southbury and our members have many other historical and community connections with Woodbury, Bethlehem, and other towns in Litchfield South. We hope to be admitted to the new Association at its spring meeting in May.
